- using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App)
- using the GP online system: SystmOnline
- fill out a repeat prescriptions request form
Important: Important notice
The practice does not accept prescriptions requests via the telephone at the practice. Please use one of the alternative methods above.

You are able to request your repeat medication in the following ways:
- By posting your repeat slip in the post boxes provided. These are located on the fence beside the main gate and beside the reception desk.

If you take a number of different repeat medications and would like to request to synchronise them so you are able to order them at the same time throughout the month, please use our medication synchronisation request form.
Collecting your prescription
Please allow 2 workings days to collect your prescription requests from the surgery or 4 working days if you collect from a nominated pharmacy.
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- fill out a nominate a pharmacy or other dispenser form
- at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
Questions about your prescription
If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.
Go to Medicines A to Z (nhs.uk)
If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription:
- fill out an ask a prescription question form
Medication reviews
If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review this may be with a clinical pharmacist or pharmacy technician. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.
Practice prescribing policy
The practice has recently changed our 56 day prescriptions to 28 day prescriptions for all patients. This is based on current NHS guidelines. The benefits of 28 day prescribing include:
- Reducing the amount of medication which is currently wasted when your doctor stops/changes your medication.
- Reducing the potential for error when your medication is changed in the middle of supply.
- Increased safety as you will not have multiple containers of the same medicine meaning it is likely to reduce the number of mistakes made by, for example, elderly patients, and it will also reduce the risk of potential poisoning of young children.
- Financial losses due to medication waste represent a direct loss to patient care. Since 28 day prescribing reduces medication waste, this in turn has a positive impact on patient care.
For patients on 2 or more items per month it is more cost effective to buy a pre-payment card.
